Amine Gouiri shines as Marseille held to 2-2 draw by Strasbourg in Ligue 1

Algerian international Amine Gouiri delivered an impressive performance for Olympique de Marseille in their 2-2 home draw against RC Strasbourg Alsace on Saturday in Matchday 22 of Ligue 1.

Gouiri started the match and played a decisive role before being substituted in the 85th minute. He was directly involved in both of Marseille’s goals, underlining his attacking influence.

The Algerian forward provided an assist in the 14th minute, setting up English teammate Mason Greenwood for the opening goal. Gouiri then put his name on the scoresheet himself in the 47th minute, producing an individual effort and a good finish to double Marseille’s tally.

Gouiri has now scored five goals in 12 Ligue 1 appearances this season, along with three goals in domestic cup competition, while also contributing two assists in the league — highlighting his offensive impact for the southern French side.

Following the draw, Marseille sit fourth in the Ligue 1 standings with 40 points, trailing leaders Lens by 12 points.
