Tunisia national team winger Sebastian Tounekti provided a timely contribution early in the second half as Celtic FC came back from a one-goal deficit to win 3-2 at Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership.
After coming on at halftime with his team down 0-2, the Norwegian-born Carthage Eagle cut inside to fire in a beautiful strike from distance in the 56th minute. Less than ten minutes later, Benjamin Nygren scored leveled the match for the Hoops.
Julian Araujo’s dramatic winner deep into second half stoppage time secured a fifth consecutive win for the Hoops, keeping them within three points of leaders Hearts and only one back of rivals Rangers.
It looked like it was going to be a frustrating outing for the reigning champions. Joe Hugill set up Tyreece John-Jules for the opener before doubling Kilmarnock’s advantage before the half hour mark.
Hoops manager Martin O’Neill announced his displeasure with the first half performance by making a triple substitution at halftime. Just after ten minutes, it was Tounekti whose individual moment of brilliance sparked hopes that the visitors could claim all three points.

Araujo’s winner was the second straight match where Celtic needed a stoppage time winner but despite a difficult 2025-26 campaign, they remain firmly in the title race. They will next turn their attention to the UEFA Europa League on Thursday where they will host the first leg in their Round of 32 clash against Bundesliga side Stuttgart.
