Ghana midfielder, Ibrahim Sulemana is a likely candidate to start in midfield for Cagliari in their Monday Serie A fixture against Lecce due to an injury to Gianluca Gaetano.
Cagliari manager Fabiano Pisacane announced that the Italian will not be available when Cagliari host Lecce in match day 25 at the Unipol Domus at 7:45GMT.
“Gaetano “won’t be an option for Monday’s fixture versus Lecce,” coach Fabio Pisacane announced.”
Gaetano suffered an unspecified injury in training and will skip at least one game because of a setback.
Ibrahim Sulemana is the next man up in the midfield since Alessandro Deiola is also out with a thigh injury.
“Deiola “will skip Monday’s bout against Lecce due to a relapse of his thigh injury,” coach Fabio Pisacane said.
Deiola returned to the bench after an extended absence two weeks ago but went backwards and will resume missing time. Ibrahim Sulemana could draw his first start since returning in January.
Ibrahim Sulemana, 22, played for Cagliari before joining Atalanta 2024. He re-joins the former side on loan after previously featuring for Bologna.
Sulemana, who has six international caps for Ghana, has made six appearances for Cagliari with a goal to his credit in the current Serie A campaign. He previously played for Hellas Verona.
