Lamine Camara unavailable for Monaco against PSG

Senegal midfielder Lamine Camara is unlikely to feature in AS Monaco’s UEFA Champions League knockout stage against fellow Ligue 1 side, Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.

Having picked up an injury during the last league match where ten-man Monaco defeated Nantes, Lamine Camara is uncertain to be fit to play against PSG on Tuesday night in the first leg of their Champions League playoff at 8:00PM GMT.

The 22-year-old was forced off with an injury shortly after the start of the match where Monaco defeated Nantes 3-1 last Friday at the Stade Louis II.

Camara played seven AFCON matches for Senegal

“It’s been 48 hours since he took a knock to his ankle. So he still needs treatment, and depending on that, we’ll see about the match,” Monaco coach Sebastien Pocognoli emphasized on Monday during a press conference.

Lamine Camara has played 18 matches and provided 3 assists this season and his absence might create a vacuum in the midfield setup of Monaco who are bent on qualifying for the next stage of the European competition.

Having missed the first leg in the league, which Monaco won 1-0 last November, the African champion will aim for a quick recovery to feature in subsequent games.

Lamine Camara, who has played four UEFA Champions League matches this campaign, featured in seven matches as Senegal defeated hosts Morocco 1-0 to lift their second Africa Cup of Nations in January.

He rose through the Senegal U-20, U-23 and to the senior side where he has 23 caps with six goals under his belt. He previously played at home for Casa Sports, Generation Foot before moving to France with Metz.

The intelligent midfielder is currently linked to English Premier League clubs Newcastle United, Manchester United and Sunderland.

Lamine Camara Doubtful for Monaco’s Champions League Clash Against PSG

AS Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara is unlikely to feature in Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League knockout playoff clash against Paris Saint-Germain due to injury concerns.

The 22-year-old picked up an ankle injury during Monaco’s 3-1 victory over Nantes last Friday at the Stade Louis II. Camara was forced off shortly after the start of the match, raising doubts about his availability for the crucial European encounter scheduled for 8:00 PM GMT.

The club’s medical team is currently assessing his fitness, but time appears limited ahead of the first leg against PSG.
