Simba SC head coach Steve Barker picked positives from their 3-0 CRDB Bank Federation Cup Round of 64 win against division one outfit Greenland FC at Major General Isamuhyo Stadium on Tuesday.
The Msimbazi Reds were making a comeback to domestic action following their failure to qualify for the knockout stages of the CAF Champions League. The game further came after Simba had defeated KMC 2-0 in a Mainland Premier League fixture.

In a fixture Simba dominated, they took a deserved lead when Baraka Mwangosi found the back of the net, before Anthony Mligo scored again for a 2-0 lead at the half-time break.
Neo Maema then wrapped up the emphatic scoreline with a superb effort to help Simba reach the next stage of the competition.
“Overall, I think we have to be pleased with the performance on a number of levels, firstly you know it was a good opportunity for some players to get some match minutes,” Barker told Pan-Africa Football.
“So, sometimes when you play this lower division teams, people expect you to be running away, six, seven goals, but I thought we had a solid performance. It was a performance full of control, and we created enough opportunities to have more than three.”
Barker added: “From the defensive point of view, our defence line was very well organised, handled the pressure very well, so, yeah, we are pleased we could come out with a clean sheet, scored three goals, and a plus that we were able to give some minutes to players.”
Mwangosi, who scored one of the goals, said: “I was expecting to score, I came with confidence that I will get a goal, and I will continue to score.”
On his part, Vedastus Masinde, said: “I prepared well for this game, I knew I was to play two days before the game. I came into the game with confidence; I want to be happy because I managed to play full 90 minutes.
“Simba is a big team, and getting an opportunity id something amazing for me. I have now played two matches, and I want to make sure I keep playing because every player wants to play, wants to be involved to help Simba win matches.”
Simba will now shift focus to the league action when they take on Tanzania Prisons on Sunday.
