Kitara FC unveil Muhammad Shaban, Agondeze and Kabon as title push gathers pace

Kitara FC have officially unveiled Uganda Cranes forward Muhammad Shaban as their newest signing, in a move that loudly signals the club’s growing title ambitions.

The prolific striker joins the Hoima-based side on a two-year deal as a free agent, shortly after parting ways with Ethiopian outfit Ethiopian Coffee.

Shaban becomes the headline act in a busy recruitment drive that also saw Kitara unveil forwards Joshua Agondeze from rivals Buhimba Saints, and Living Kabon, who arrives on loan from URA FC.

Speaking during his unveiling, Shaban could not hide his excitement about starting a new chapter with the Royals, stressing both belief in the project and responsibility on his shoulders.

“I am very happy to be here. Kitara is a big club and I am happy to be part of their journey,” Shaban said.
“We are going to work with my teammates to make sure we bring something that puts smiles on the faces of the fans and the people around Hoima.”

The former Onduparaka FC and KCCA FC striker acknowledged that the move is built on mutual trust and clear expectations.

“Coming here means the club trusts me and believes in me, so I also have to do what is expected of me scoring goals. I will do my best to achieve that.”

Shaban also addressed his decision to move away from Kampala, insisting that comfort should never limit ambition.

“It’s not all about staying in the city of Kampala; it’s about coming out of your comfort zone. Hoima is a good city with good people. I already feel at home, especially with my brothers Kabon, Wahab, Wasswa and Juuko around. They understand me, and that will help us as a team.”

Currently coached by Wasswa Bbosa, Kitara sit just two points behind league leaders Vipers SC, a position that has only strengthened belief that a genuine title challenge is possible.

Shaban’s arrival is expected to ease the attacking burden that has largely rested on Patrick Kaddu, while adding proven pedigree and big-game experience.

His résumé includes spells with Onduparaka FC, KCCA FC, Vipers SC, Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca, and Libyan sides Al Hilal Benghazi and Al Anwar.

With the addition of Shaban, Agondeze and Kabon, Kitara FC have not only strengthened their attacking options but also made it clear: the Royals are no longer just dreaming of silverware, they are actively chasing it.
