Guinean Football Federation (FEGUIFOOT) interim president Sory Doumbouya has been implicated in improper conduct after an audio recording emerged this week. Doumbouya, who also leads local top flight club Milo FC, was allegedly heard asking an unnamed player to join his club in exchange for a place in the national team.
Doumbouya took charge of the federation on an interim basis after the executive committee fired former president Bouba Sampil in 2025.

During his leadership, the country’s national team unsuccessfully attempted to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, claiming that Tanzania national football team had fielded an ineligible player during their qualifying finale in Dar es Salaam which ended in a decisive defeat.
Now, the president is facing a more serious allegation. According to Guineefoot, Doumbouya was heard in an audio recording attempting to persuade a player to join a club he runs. The identity of the player has not been disclosed, and the federation has not yet issued a comment.
Former national team captain Abdoulkarim Bangoura stated that he is taking the matter to the public prosecutor. Football followers in the West African nation say the allegation undermines the credibility of the West African nation’s federation. Conflicts of interest are often prohibited in football, and Doumbouya now faces significant pressure to defend his name.
