UAE Pro League: Milson scores first goal, Banza strikes in Al Jazira’s decisive victory

Simon Banza was among the scorers for Al Jazira on Thursday as well as Angolan forward Milson (pictured), who scored his first UAE Pro League goal in a 5-0 victory for the hosts over Al Sharjah.

Milson, who joined on loan from Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade at the beginning of the month, is making an impact for a club that is eager to compete for a place in continental competition next season.

After a promising debut that was followed by an assist in his second match, the Palanca Negra created more chaos and benefited from some good fortune when his deflected effort went in off the crossbar in the 35th minute. His goal added to a devastating first half where the hosts went up 3-0 in the opening half hour before the Angolan struck.

From that point, the rout was on and big money signing Banza completed the scoring early in the second half. The Congolese striker, who arrived for a fee over €8 million before struggling with injuries and underwhelming form, added his fourth goal of the season with a header in the 50th minute.

Al Jazira have now won their last three league matches, pushing the club into fourth place on the league table for the time being. With nine goals during this stretch, the attack is performing at a new level with their new Angolan arrival as well as an extended spell of good health for Banza.

UAE Pro League: Milson and Banza Inspire Al Jazira to 5-0 Victory

Al Jazira delivered one of their most dominant performances of the season on Thursday night, defeating Al Sharjah 5-0 in a commanding display that strengthens their hopes of continental qualification next season.

The Abu Dhabi side controlled the match from the opening whistle, combining sharp attacking movement with disciplined defending. Both Milson and Simon Banza were on the scoresheet, highlighting the growing chemistry within the squad.

Milson Shines in UAE Pro League Breakthrough Moment

Milson continues to make an immediate impact since joining on loan from Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade earlier this month. After an encouraging debut and an assist in his second appearance, the Angolan winger opened his account in spectacular fashion.

In the 35th minute, he unleashed a powerful strike that took a slight deflection before bouncing in off the crossbar. While luck played a small role, the confidence and attacking intent behind the effort reflected a player eager to prove himself in the UAE Pro League.

His goal came during a devastating first half in which the hosts had already established a three-goal lead inside the opening 30 minutes. The winger’s pace, creativity, and direct approach consistently troubled the Al Sharjah defense.

Nicknamed “Palanca Negra,” Milson has brought fresh energy to the squad. His ability to stretch defenses and create space has added a new dimension to the team’s attacking structure.

Banza Responds with Confidence

Simon Banza also played a crucial role in the emphatic victory. The Congolese striker arrived earlier this season for a reported fee exceeding €8 million but has struggled with injuries and inconsistent form.

However, signs of improvement are becoming increasingly clear. In the 50th minute, Banza rose highest inside the box to guide a powerful header into the net, completing the scoring on the night. It was his fourth goal of the campaign and a welcome boost to his confidence.

With improved fitness and consistent minutes on the pitch, the striker appears ready to contribute more effectively during the decisive final stretch of the season.

Total Dominance from Start to Finish

The home side’s performance was not limited to individual brilliance. The midfield dictated possession, defensive transitions were well organized, and the attacking trio showed fluid movement throughout the match.

Once the fourth goal went in, the contest was effectively decided. The second half allowed the hosts to manage the tempo while continuing to create dangerous opportunities.

Defensively, they remained compact and disciplined, ensuring that Al Sharjah had limited chances to respond. The clean sheet further underlined the team’s overall balance.

Momentum Building at a Crucial Stage

This result marks a third consecutive league win for Al Jazira. Over that stretch, the team has scored nine goals while showing improved defensive stability. The recent run has temporarily pushed them into fourth place in the standings.

Confidence within the squad continues to grow as new arrivals settle quickly and key players return to full fitness. The combination of Milson’s creativity and Banza’s aerial presence provides balance in the final third.

If this level of performance continues, the Abu Dhabi club could emerge as strong contenders for a top-three finish. Their recent displays suggest a team peaking at the right moment.

For supporters, the 5-0 triumph represents more than just three points. It reflects a side that is evolving, improving, and gaining belief with each passing match.
