Al Ahly were held to a 1–1 draw by ZED FC in Matchday 20 of the Egyptian League at Cairo International Stadium, dropping two valuable points in the title race.
ZED took an early lead in the 10th minute through Mostafa Saad “Messi”. Exploiting a defensive lapse from Al Ahly, he seized on a one-on-one opportunity and slotted the ball neatly between the goalkeeper’s legs to make it 1–0.
Al Ahly pressed but were denied until the 89th minute. Mohamed Trezeguet capitalized on a rare error from ZED’s goalkeeper to fire home the equalizer, rescuing a point for the Red Devils.
This marks Al Ahly’s seventh draw of the season in the Egyptian League.
The draw is a setback for Al Ahly, who now sit level on 37 points with joint leaders Zamalek SC and Pyramids FC. With Zamalek and Pyramids facing each other this round, Al Ahly had a prime chance to gain ground — an opportunity that slipped away with this late stalemate. For ZED, the point lifts them to 26 points in seventh place.
