Uganda Premier League: Title chases and survival battles shape Matchday 18

Matchday 18 of the Startimes Uganda Premier League serves up a demanding start on Monday, March 2, 2026, with two of the country’s biggest names clocking serious miles for potentially decisive encounters.
At 4pm, KCCA make the trip to Royal Park Butema to take on newly promoted Buhimba United Saints.  The Kasasiro Boys arrive sitting fifth on the table with 33 points and know victory is non-negotiable if they are to keep the title conversation alive.

With leaders Vipers not in action until Tuesday, KCCA can trim the gap to just two points.
History and form slightly favour the visitors. KCCA edged the reverse fixture 1–0 at Lugogo and face a Buhimba side currently 14th on the log with 15 points, only three clear of the relegation places.
Still, home turf and desperation for points make the Saints a dangerous opponent.
Meanwhile, further north in Yumbe, SC Villa face a stern examination away to Calvary at Midigo Primary School Ground, also kicking off at 4pm. Villa claimed a narrow 1–0 win in the first round, but the long journey and Calvary’s fighting spirit promise a far less comfortable afternoon.

For the Jogoos, the stakes are clear. Three points would propel them into second place, just one point behind Vipers, cranking up pressure at the summit before the leaders even kick a ball.
