Playing at The Royals Park in Butema, Hoima, the Kasasiro Boys secured three important points courtesy of a clinical brace from Ivan Ahimbisibwe but for Magera, the result was about more than just the goals.
“We thank the players for the display because this isn’t an easy ground to play on and win,” Magera said after the match. “We may not have played the way we wanted, but the character was there. And also thanks to Ivan Ahimbisibwe for the brace, that is why we brought him in because he is a natural goal scorer.”
KCCA FC began brightly and showed attacking intent inside the opening minutes. In the 5th minute, Gavin Kizito’s long delivery picked out Ahimbisibwe, whose header drifted narrowly wide. Moments later, Shafik Kwikiriza won a free kick at the edge of the area, but Ashraf Mugume’s curling effort was well dealt with by Buhimba goalkeeper Jamil Kiyimba.
The visitors continued to apply pressure, with Mugume and Kwikiriza combining well in advanced areas, but the breakthrough only arrived two minutes before halftime. Joel Sserunjogi’s pinpoint long ball was expertly controlled by Saidi Mayanja, who laid it off for Ahimbisibwe to finish calmly and give KCCA a deserved lead at the break.
At halftime, the technical bench made bold changes. Kennedy Muserero was handed his debut as Mayanja made way, while Rogers Mugisha replaced Kwikiriza.
The hosts responded with urgency after the restart, forcing Mutwalibi Mugolofa into a smart save in the 55th minute before denying Swadik Moro in a one-on-one situation later in the half. Muserero nearly enjoyed a dream debut, showing quick feet inside the box before unleashing a shot that required a spectacular stop from Kiyimba.
Magera also reserved special praise for substitute Bright Anukani, whose introduction proved decisive.
“Bright is a good player in the final third,” Magera explained. “After assessing the opponent’s behavior, we needed him to come on and he did exactly that — assisting Ahimbisibwe for our second goal.”

Despite the victory, Magera emphasized the need for continued focus as the season progresses.
“The players should remain calm, keep working hard, and put what we teach them into action, while maintaining this consistency,” he urged.
The win strengthened KCCA’s momentum in the title race and underlines the growing influence of Ahimbisibwe — a forward proving decisive when it matters most.
