Victor Osimhen urged to play in Premier League

Former Nigerian international Ogenyi Onazi believes Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen will be a big hit if he decides to play in the Premier League.

The 27-year-old is currently playing for Turkish outfit Galatasaray after he signed a permanent deal from Serie A outfit Napoli. However, according to Onazi, his vision is to see Osimhen in the Premier League.

“That would be a very good one for him, because there are characteristics of a club in Italy that are good choices to make,” Onazi told Footy Africa.

‘I would love to see Victor in an English club’

“So, if Victor goes to clubs like Juventus, Inter Milan, AS Roma, those are clubs I would appreciate him to go to, because those are people who value the player who they have, and without any much problems. Although, you never can tell in the future what is going to happen.”

He added: “So, but for me, I would love to see Victor in an English club because that is where he can explore very good and that is more… he will have more broad chances, you know? And that’s one of the best leagues in the world, you know? So, I would love to see him there.

“But if Juventus comes for him and the conditions are okay, I just want to be sure that he has a very good condition, everything, all of his conditions are met, so he can be able to confidently play without any problems.

Osimhen finished in eighth place at 2023 Ballon d’Or

“So, for me, that would be amazing for him to play in Juventus. Juventus too is an amazing club for him to play too, but for me, England, is where I want to see. That’s where his talent belongs.”

Osimhen is widely regarded as one of the best strikers in the world. He finished in eighth place at the 2023 Ballon d’Or ceremony, becoming the first Nigerian to make the top ten of the French award.

He was named the African Footballer of the Year at the 2023 CAF Awards, the first Nigerian to receive this honour since Nwankwo Kanu in 1999.

The continued rise of Victor Osimhen has made him one of the most talked-about strikers in world football. Over the past few seasons, the Nigerian forward has consistently demonstrated his ability to score goals at the highest level. His pace, strength and finishing ability make him a difficult player for defenders to contain.

Many football analysts believe that a move to the Premier League could further elevate the career of Victor Osimhen. The English top flight is widely regarded as one of the most competitive leagues in the world, attracting some of the best players and coaches in the game. A successful spell in England would only strengthen Osimhen’s reputation as one of Africa’s finest forwards.

Several Premier League clubs have previously been linked with Victor Osimhen, with reports suggesting that teams are monitoring his performances closely. Clubs competing in European competitions are often eager to sign a proven goalscorer, and Osimhen’s record makes him a valuable target in the transfer market.

Beyond club football, the striker remains a key figure for the Nigerian national team. Supporters of the Super Eagles hope that Victor Osimhen will continue delivering strong performances both at club and international level. His leadership in attack and ability to score important goals have made him one of the most influential players in the national squad.

If the opportunity arises in the future, a move to the Premier League could provide Victor Osimhen with a new challenge and an even bigger stage to showcase his talent. With his impressive goal-scoring record and relentless work rate, many believe he has all the qualities needed to succeed in England’s demanding football environment.
