Asare, who plies his trade with Ghana giants Hearts of Oak, was the Black Stars’ safest pair of hands during the successful World Cup qualification however, his chances of keeping his number one spot has come under harsh media scrutiny.
🗣️”Benjamin Asare is my senior, so it’s not right for me to advise him,” former Black Stars goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim told Akoma FM.

Danlad Ibrahim, who guided Asante Kotoko to the 2021-22 Ghana Premier League title, hailed Benjamin Asare’s work ethics before offering his backing.
“Benjamin Asare is my senior, so it wouldn’t be right for me to advise him. I can only seek God’s luck, favour, and strength for him, to protect him from any disgrace or injuries,” he told 3Sports.
“I really admire his conduct both on and off the pitch, and I pray that he performs exceptionally well for Ghana in the tournament.”
Danlad Ibrahim is one of the few Ghanaian goalkeepers to have played for the national teams from U-17, U-20, U-23 and the senior side where he made four appearances.
The four-time African champions have been drawn in Group L, where they will come up against Panama, England and Croatia. Ghana open their campaign against Panama on June 17, before facing England on June 23 and wrapping up the group phase against Croatia on June 27.
As part of their build-up, the Black Stars are scheduled to reconvene in March for international friendlies against Austria and Germany, followed by a final preparatory fixture against Mexico in May.
