The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations bronze medalist has become a mainstay in the Claret Blues’ squad since his move from Southampton.
Onuachu won bronze with Nigeria at the 2025 AFCON
Fatih Tekke said: “When Onuachu first arrived, I called him the top scorer. He has special talents, but what I want from him is to be even better. If he doesn’t lose some balls easily, he will score more goals. We are very happy to have him. What I like most about him is how he works hard in training”
The 31-year-old has notched an impressive performance in the Super Lig this season, scoring 18 times in 21 appearances and 20 in all competitions.
He played five matches as Nigeria managed to claim bronze at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco after beating record holders Egypt 4-2 on penalty shootouts following a goalless draw at full time.
The former Ebedei striker previously played for FC Midtjylland, Vejle, Genk and English side Southampton before signing for Trabzonspor in 2025 in a deal worth €6 million.
