Watch: Marmoush’s brace fires Manchester City past Newcastle into FA Cup quarter-finals

Omar Marmoush delivered a standout performance to lead Manchester City to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup after a 3–1 victory over Newcastle United FC.

Newcastle opened the scoring in the 18th minute through Harvey Barnes, giving the visitors an early advantage. However, City responded before the break when Brazilian winger Savinho equalized in the 39th minute.

In the second half, Marmoush took control of the game. The Egyptian forward scored City’s second goal after a low cross inside the box passed across the Newcastle defense and reached him, allowing Marmoush to fire a shot into the net.

The Egyptian international struck again in the 66th minute to complete his brace. The goal came after a run from Matheus Nunes, who delivered a pass that Marmoush finished powerfully from outside the box, sending the ball past goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale into the right side of the net.

In the 73rd minute, Marmoush was substituted for Antoine Semenyo, with City manager Pep Guardiola personally greeting the Egyptian star on the sidelines after his impressive display.

The score remained unchanged until the final whistle, confirming Manchester City’s 3–1 victory and securing their place in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

So far, four teams have officially qualified for the FA Cup quarter-finals this season: Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester City. Four more teams are yet to secure their spots, as the remaining Round of 16 matches will determine the final quarter-finalists and complete the tournament bracket.
