Zambian striker Patson Daka has reflected on his goal for Leicester City in their one-all draw against fellow Sky Bet Championship side Ipswich Town FC in England on Saturday.

The former FC Red Bull Salzburg man reacted the quickest to volley into the net from a well worked out Luke Thomas’ 39th-minute free-kick, only for Ipswich Town to cancel out the African star’s goal through Sindre Egeli in the 66th-minute.

The Chipolopolo striker has not been in his best form of late but he remains the key man in the former Premier League champions’ battle against relegation from the second-tier Sky Bet Championship.

The Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations winner has managed three league goals this season.

Nonetheless, Daka told Leicester City media that he was encouraged by the support from their fans and strong team spirit in the face of adversity.

“You can see within the group we are fighting for each other. The fans were brilliant. They helped us to dig in. It was a tough game against a good side, and their support really helped us to keep finding that extra push,” the Zambian told his club’s media.

What the result means to Leicester

The goal for Chipolopolo forward was not enough to ease City’s relegation fears; they are third from the basement at par on 35 points from second-from-the bottom Oxford FC.
