With five goals and five assists this campaign, Afena-Gyan has become an important figure for Amedspor since joining on a season-long loan from Italian side US Cremonese.
He scored the only goal for the eventual winner during their 1-0 victory against Serik Spor in their 29th round fixture, as they keep pushing for promotion to the top flight Süper Lig.
The victory keeps Amedspor firmly in third place with 61 points, two points behind leaders Erzurumspor and one adrift of second placed Erokspor.
Afena-Gyan has earned eight caps for Ghana and played a key role in the Black Stars qualification for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, but he was eventually dropped for the final squad for the tournament in Qatar.
