Libyan star Moatasem Al-Musrati reverses international retirement

Libyan midfielder Moatasem Al-Musrati has reversed his decision to retire from international football and will return to represent the Libya national football team.

The 29-year-old currently plays for Hellas Verona FC in Serie A on loan from Turkish side Beşiktaş JK.

Al-Musrati confirmed that he has decided to return to the Libyan national team, ending the international retirement he announced two years ago.

The experienced midfielder had stepped away from international duty at the time due to what he described as the absence of a strategy and planning for the Libyan national team.

Al-Musrati confirmed that he has put the past behind him, and that his focus today is on the future of the Libyan national team, which he hopes to see in the position it deserves.

Throughout his club career, Al-Musrati has represented several teams including Al-Ittihad Tripoli in Libya, as well as Portuguese clubs Vitória de Guimarães, SC Braga and Rio Ave FC. He later moved to Beşiktaş JK and had a spell with AS Monaco before joining Hellas Verona FC on loan until the end of the current season.

Al-Musrati made his debut for the Libya national football team at the age of 17 years and nine months, highlighting his early rise in international football.

So far, he has made 40 appearances for Libya and scored two international goals.
