Uganda Premier League: No slip-ups at the top as title hopefuls collect maximum points

The StarTimes Uganda Premier League title race tightened further on Saturday as the leading contenders all secured important victories to keep the battle at the summit wide open.
League leaders Vipers SC, KCCA FC, and SC Villa each collected maximum points, while Express FC boosted their campaign with a convincing win as the competition edged closer to its decisive phase.

Uganda Premier League Results – March 14, 2026

  • Express FC 3–1 URA FC
  • Vipers SC 1–0 Calvary FC
  • Entebbe UPPC FC 0–2 SC Villa
  • Lugazi FC 0–3 KCCA FC
  • Maroons FC 0–0 UPDF FC

Late drama sends Vipers further ahead

At St Mary’s Stadium, leaders Vipers SC were pushed to the limit by relegation-threatened Calvary before finally snatching a narrow victory late on.
Congolese striker Gusto Wa Ilungo Mulungo struck the decisive goal in the 86th minute, converting from close range after being set up by Yunus Ssentamu.

The Venoms had earlier introduced Milton Karisa and Ssentamu in the second half, a tactical adjustment that eventually unlocked Calvary’s stubborn defence. Mulungo, who had only entered the game in the 76th minute, was later named man of the match.
The win pushed Vipers to 50 points from 21 matches, keeping them four points clear at the summit.

KCCA maintain momentum

Meanwhile in Najjembe, KCCA FC continued their impressive run with a dominant 3–0 triumph over Lugazi FC.
Midfielder Saidi Mayanja opened the scoring in the 19th minute after Lugazi goalkeeper Allan Batali Igama failed to deal with a loose ball.
Mayanja later turned provider, setting up striker Ivan Ahimbisibwe for KCCA’s second goal in the 57th minute. The contest was effectively settled four minutes later when defender Paul Wasswa inadvertently turned the ball into his own net under pressure from Ahimbisibwe.

The victory moved KCCA to 45 points, strengthening their grip on third place while keeping them within touching distance of the leaders.

Villa return to winning ways

At the Fisheries Ground, SC Villa bounced back with a composed 2–0 victory over Entebbe UPPC FC.
Forward Frank Ssebufu gave the visitors an early advantage in the 10th minute, heading in a delivery from Patrick Jonah Kakande.

Villa doubled their lead 13 minutes later through Najib Yiga, who finished off a well-crafted move after being picked out by veteran forward Hassan Mubiru. The Jogoos remained solid after the break, comfortably seeing out the match to move to 41 points and stay within reach of the title contenders.

Express overpower URA in Nakivubo

At Hamz Stadium, Express FC produced a strong performance to defeat URA FC 3–1.
The Red Eagles struck first in the 35th minute through Amos Muwonge, who finished off a header after being set up by John Asiimwe.
URA responded quickly when Ronald Otti levelled the score six minutes later. However, Express regained the lead immediately after the restart as Mikidadi Ssenyonga struck in the 46th minute.
Forward Kenneth Kimera then wrapped up the victory with a goal deep into stoppage time, lifting Express to 23 points and above URA on the standings.

Security derby ends in stalemate

The only match without goals came in the clash between Maroons FC and UPDF FC, where both sides cancelled each other out in a tightly contested encounter.
The stalemate left Maroons ninth on 26 points, while UPDF continue to battle near the foot of the table with 14 points.
Overall, Saturday’s results ensured the title fight remains fiercely competitive, with several teams still firmly in contention as the StarTimes Uganda Premier League season moves toward its final stretch.
