New venue for Egypt national team vs Saudi Arabia friendly amid Middle East tensions

The Egypt national team is set to face the Saudi Arabia national football team in a friendly match as part of both teams’ preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to the Egyptian Football Association the match between Egypt and Saudi Arabia will take place in Jeddah on March 27 after initial plans to host the encounter in Doha faced organizational difficulties due to tensions in Middle East.

The Pharaohs are scheduled to play two friendly matches during the March international break, facing Saudi Arabia and Spain national football team as part of their final preparations ahead of the summer tournament.

Egypt will compete in Group G at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where they will take on Belgium national football team, New Zealand national football team, and Iran national football team.
