Gor Mahia started strongly against the army side and they were awarded a penalty after Sharrif Musa was fouled inside the box by Bildad Abonga. Ghanaian import Enock Morisson stepped up to send Ulinzi goalkeeper Sylvaine Ricks the wrong way.
The goal rejuvenated Gor Mahia, who continued to attack for the second. Musa made another assist this time setting up substitute Patrick Essombe, who rounded off Ricks before planting the ball into the net.
In the 75th minute, Gor Mahia made it 3-0. Musa, who had a great game, was at the provider again. The former Kariobangi Sharks midfielder scored a beauty from a free-kick which saw the entire Gor Mahia bench led by coach Charles Akonnor stand up to applaud.
