The towering Nigerian needed less than five minutes to make an impact after coming on, making it his first goal in over a month for the bottom side in the English top flight.
It was a courageous fightback from the relegation fighters, who went down 0-2 at the Brentford Community Stadium. Michael Kayode gave the hosts the lead in the 22nd minute and it appeared that The Bees, engaged in a battle to qualify for UEFA club competition next season, would roll to a routine victory.
Burkina Faso national team star Ouattara then provided an excellent assist to club top scorer Igor Thiago to double the lead in the 37th minute. After smootly taking down a pass over the top of the opposition defense to go through on goal, the Burkinabé unselfishly laid a pass over to Thiago for a finish into an empty net.
The former Bournemouth star was influential all match, creating a couple of dangerous opportunities with his darting runs down the left wing and high level services into the penalty area.
But concern began to rise for the home supporters when Adam Armstrong hit back for the basement dwellers just before halftime. And their fears were confirmed by a complacent Bees side that did not look nearly as dangerous as they did during a dominant first half.
The decisive moment arrived when João Gomes put in a hopeful cross from the right wing. The ball was allowed to bounce and went through towards the far post where Arokodare dove to bounce his header past Caoimhín Kelleher in the Brentford goal.
