The attack of Young Africans (Yanga) continued to misfire on Wednesday in a 0-0 draw at TRA United in Tanzania’s NBC Premier League.

The reigning champions dropped points for a second consecutive match following Sunday’s 0-0 draw against Dar es Salaam rivals Azam FC on Sunday.
Even with the return of Ivorian playmaker Pacôme Zouzoua for his first start since mid-February, the Citizens could not find a spark to their attack. The closest the visitors came to opening the scoring was when Emmanuel Mwanengo headed in a cross, but the recent signing’s apparent goal against his former club was ruled out by the lineswoman’s offsides flag.
Fatigue was blamed by coach Pedro Gonçalves for the scoreless draw with Azam over the weekend and it appears that his club is still fighting the negative effects of fixture congestion after taking part in the CAF Champions League group stage.
While the holders remain firmly ahead on the league table, they are opening the door for rivals Simba SC, who are ten points back but have three matches in hand. The Reds will travel to face Pamba Jiji on Thursday.
Later on Wednesday, Singida Black Stars will attempt to earn back-to-back victories when they clash with Tanzania Prisons. The big spending club will move into a top-5 position with a victory.
