Jennifer Echegini bags brace as PSG secure Coupe de France semifinal spot

Nigerian midfielder Jennifer Echegini continued her goal-scoring form, bagging a brace for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) Féminine as they edged out Dijon FCO 2–1 in the Coupe de France Féminine quarterfinal on Wednesday.
Echegini, who also opened the scoring in PSG’s last match against Olympique de Marseille in Division 1 Féminine, once again broke the deadlock for the visitors just before the halftime break.

Dijon restored parity through a Léa Declercq penalty kick in the 53rd minute. However, the leveler was short-lived, as the Super Falcons midfielder scored her second goal and the match-winner in the 87th minute. Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade also featured in the high-stakes quarterfinal clash.

Tournament impact

This victory sees PSG Féminine into the semifinals, keeping their hopes of a domestic cup double alive. They now turn their attention to face FC Fleury 91 in the semifinals.
