Turkish TFF League: Mbaye Diagne on target for Amedspor

Senegal striker Mbaye Diagne scored his 24th goal of the season during Amedspor’s 3-0 victory at Hatayspor in the Turkish TFF First League on Sunday.

The 34-year-old wasted no time in making Amedspor’s presence felt at the Mersin Arena when he shot them ahead with just ten minutes played.

Fourteen minutes later, Daniel Moreno doubled the lead for the visitors, leaving Hatayspor biting their finger nails in front of their teeming supporters.

The 2-0 lead separated the two sides into the half time break before Florent Hasani made the score line 3-0 in the 58th minute to put the game beyond Hatayspor who are battling relegation in 19th position.

The big win increased Amedspor’s promotion dreams as they stayed in the second spot with 67 points, two points behind leaders Erzurumspor from 32 games into the campaign.

Mbaye Diagne, who is capped 11 times by Senegal has now scored 24 goals in 30 appearances with six assists under his belt.

The experienced striker has brought his top performance to Amedspor’s table having previously played for Juventus, Ajaccio, Lierse SK, Westerloo, Kasimpasa, Fatih Karagumruk, Club Brugge, Galatasaray and West Brom.

His journey in the Gulf includes stints at NEOM FC, Al Qadsiah, Al Shabab all of Saudi Arabia as well as Tianjin Teda of China.
