Kaizer Chiefs striker Flávio Da Silva is set to represent his country on the international stage after receiving a call-up to the Guinea-Bissau national team.
The 29-year-old marksman has been a key figure for the Glamour Boys since arriving at Naturena ahead of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership campaign. His consistent performances have now been rewarded with a place in the ‘Djurtus’ squad for their upcoming double-header against Burkina Faso.
Da Silva, who signed a two-year deal with an option to renew until June 2028, made an instant impression on the Amakhosi faithful. He famously netted the winner on his debut against Lamontville Golden Arrows in August 2025, followed by another strike against Sekhukhune United just days later.
While his most recent league goal came during a narrow 2-1 defeat to Stellenbosch FC in February, the lanky forward remains the club’s second-most productive attacker this season, trailing only Glody Lilepo.
Kaizer Chiefs took to social media on Wednesday afternoon to celebrate the striker’s achievement and wish him luck for the international break.
“Congratulations to Flavio Da Silva on his call-up to the Guinea-Bissau National Team. We wish you all the best on international duty!” the club stated.
Total Goals: 7 in all competitions
International Task: Back-to-back fixtures against Burkina Faso
The lanky striker will be looking to carry his domestic form into the international arena as Guinea-Bissau looks to navigate a tough qualifying period.
