Ahmed El Shimi finished from a cross by Ziad Anwar “Zizo” to make it 1-0 inside two minutes before Youssef Oya finished in the 19th minute after intercepting a poor pass from El Gaish goalkeeper Emad El Sayed.
Mohamed Hany pulled a goal back from the penalty spot early in the second half but Franck Boli added one more goal late on to give Wadi Degla a two-goal advantage ahead of the second leg.
In the later match, venue hosts Petrojet overcame ENPPI with a narrow 1-0 victory. In an even match, it was a moment of panic in the ENPPI defense that allowed Senegalese forward Sekou Sonko to score the only goal of the match in the 17th minute.
