Mofokeng and Cardoso sweep PSL Monthly Awards for March

Relebohile Mofokeng and Miguel Cardoso have both secured back-to-back accolades in a month characterised by high-stakes title race manoeuvres and individual brilliance.

The dominance of Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates has been underlined once again as the PSL confirmed the Betway Premiership Monthly Awards for March 2026.

Cardoso edges out Zwane and Ouaddou for March honours

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso has officially cemented his grip on the Coach of the Month award. After winning the January/February gong, the Portuguese tactician guided the Brazilians to a flawless March, recording four wins from four matches.

Cardoso’s tactical masterclass during this period has significantly bolstered Sundowns’ title defence, allowing him to edge out tough competition from Orlando Pirates’ Abdeslam Ouaddou and AmaZulu FC’s Arthur Zwane, the latter of whom has impressively steered Usuthu into the top three.

Mofokeng’s magic month earns him consecutive Player of the Month gongs

Meanwhile, the “Soweto Chill” continues to freeze out defenders across the league. Orlando Pirates sensation Relebohile Mofokeng has retained his Player of the Month title.

Mofokeng’s March was highlighted by a historic milestoneβ€”his first professional hat-trick, netted against TS Galaxy. With four goals across four matches, the young attacker remains the heartbeat of the Buccaneers’ offensive unit.

Maiden Glory for Konqobe

While the giants dominated the primary categories, Chippa United’s Ayabulela Konqobe stole the spotlight in the Goal of the Month category.

Konqobe claimed his first-ever Betway Premiership monthly award for his sensational long-range strike against Magesi FC at Seshego Stadium on 14 March. The powerful, precise finish from well outside the box is already being touted as a frontrunner for the Goal of the Season.

The winners were selected by an independent panel of PSL-accredited journalists and broadcasters, including the likes of Carol Tshabalala, Lorenz Kohler, and Sifiso Ramara.

As the league enters its final stretch, the battle for supremacy between Sundowns and Pirates is not just reflected on the log, but in the trophy cabinet as well. With Cardoso and Mofokeng showing no signs of slowing down, the April fixtures promise to be even more explosive.
