Tunisian League reschedules Étoile–Espérance Clasico

The Tunisian Football League has officially announced a change to the date of the Tunisian Clasico between Etoile Sportive du Sahel and Esperance Sportive de Tunis, part of Matchday 9 of the second phase in the Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1.

The match will now be played on Saturday, April 4, 2026, instead of Sunday, April 5, with kickoff set for 13:30 GMT.

In another development, the management of Étoile Sportive du Sahel has submitted an official request to the national refereeing body, Tunisian Refereeing Committee, asking for a foreign referee to officiate the encounter.

Current Standings

Heading into the clash, Espérance Sportive de Tunis sit at the top of the league table with 53 points, while Étoile Sportive du Sahel are in sixth place with 34 points.

The game will be held after the Tunisia national team play two friendlies against Haiti and Canada in the current international break in the early hours of March 29 and April 1.
