The FIFA Series continued on in Kazakhstan on Saturday with Namibia defeating fellow COSAFA nation Comoros 5-4 in a penalty shootout following a 0-0 draw in Astana.
The Brave Warriors converted all five of their spot kick attempts to complete the FIFA window on a positive note. The result came after falling 0-2 to hosts Kazakhstan on Wednesday.
Both teams came into the match after difficult stretches, making it not too surprising that few opportunities were created throughout the ninety minutes. After an even first half, Namibia looked a little more dangerous after halftime but a draw was always the most likely result.
After zero goals through ninety minutes, the match went straight to penalties where the decisive moment arrived on the third attempt for Les Coelacanthes. Aboubacar Ali’s tame spot kick was well saved by Warriors keeper Kamaijanda Ndisiro to give his side two points on the table.

The Kazakhstan-hosted portion of the friendly tournament will conclude on Tuesday when the Comorians will clash with the hosts, with the winner claiming top spot. The group was originally supposed to include Kuwait as well but the Gulf nation dropped out due to the ongoing Iran War.
