The Central Asians experienced defeat at the Emir Comples in Antalya, Türkiye three days earlier to African opposition after falling 0-1 to Equatorial Guinea. Things went even worse on Saturday at the same venue with Kyrgyzstan being no match for the island nation.
Whereas Equatorial Guinea were looking towards the future with the players selected, the Malagasy team put out a strong XI that imposed themselves. Within five minutes of the kickoff, El Gouna forward Arnaud Randrianantenaina had put the islanders ahead with an excellent header from a cross.
Shortly after the quarter hour mark, it was 2-0 after defender Thomas Fontaine met Rayan Raveloson’s corner kick with a diving header at the near post. William Caddy added another goal less than ten minutes later after a woeful mistake by the Kyrgyz goalkeeper allowed the in form Randers FC striker an easy finish.
Clement Couturier made it 4-0 just before halftime after another amateur moment from the opposition defense. Kyrgyzstan woke up at halftime and managed to score two goals in five minutes around the hour mark to make the match somewhat competitive. However, Caddy converted from the penalty spot to complete the scoring in the 78th minute.
