Bwomono fired up for Aberdeen challenge after swift return to action

Uganda Cranes defender Elvis Bwomono has spoken with optimism and determination after sealing a short-term move to Aberdeen F.C., as he looks to make an immediate impact in the closing stretch of the season.

The versatile defender, capable of operating at right-back or in central defence, joins the Scottish Premiership side following a brief assessment period, stepping in at a crucial time when the club is battling defensive injuries.

Bwomono’s arrival sees him reunite with head coach Stephen Robinson, a familiar figure from his stint at St Mirren F.C.

The manager expressed confidence in the Ugandan international’s adaptability, highlighting his ability to slot into multiple roles across the pitch.

Speaking after completing the move, Bwomono could not hide his excitement about the opportunity. He emphasized his eagerness to contribute and reconnect with a coach who understands his strengths.

“I’m really happy to be here and excited to get started again under the manager,” Bwomono shared. “The environment is competitive, the sessions have been intense, and you can already see the hunger within the squad.”

With Aberdeen facing a demanding run of fixtures, the 25-year-old is focused on helping the team finish strongly.

“We’ve got important games ahead, and my aim is simple, to give everything I have and support the team in any way possible,” he added.

Bwomono arrives at the club after a period without competitive action, having last featured for ÍBV Vestmannaeyja earlier this year.

Prior to that, he enjoyed a solid spell at St Mirren, where he made over 40 appearances and played a key role in their impressive league performances.

Born in Uganda and raised in England, Bwomono developed through the ranks at Queens Park Rangers F.C. before making his breakthrough at Southend United F.C.

Now, with a fresh opportunity in Scotland, the Uganda international is determined to make his mark and help Aberdeen navigate a critical phase of their campaign.
