Sinkala boosts Zambia camp ahead of Argentina friendly

Zambia national team assistant coach Andrew Sinkala has joined the squad in Buenos Aires as preparations intensify for Tuesday’s high-profile international friendly against Argentina.

Sinkala who arrived from Germany, quickly linked up with head coach George Lwandamina and his technical bench.

The former Chipolopolo midfielder took part in a demanding first training session at Complejo Pedro Pompilio, the training base of Argentine giants Boca Juniors.

‘Everyone aware of big challenge ahead’

The team has continued to build momentum in camp, with players showing focus ahead of the encounter. Forward Chanka Zimba, who has been handed his first Chipolopolo call-up, says he has settled in well and credits his teammates for making his arrival smooth.

Chanka added the mood in camp is positive, with everyone fully aware of the big challenge ahead. Austria – based striker Kingstone Mutandwa who is back in the squad after a lengthy absence, said the players have already begun studying their opponents.

The SV Ried striker noted that watching Argentina’s friendly against Mauritania on Friday last week has given the team a clearer picture of what to expect.

The Copper Bullets will be looking to put in a disciplined and competitive performance when they face the world champions on Tuesday.

Chipolopolo will face Argentina at the iconic La Bombonera stadium, renowned for its unique design and intense matchday atmosphere.

Lwandamina has assembled a squad largely made up of local talent, with 18 home based players complemented by seven foreign based players.
