Nigeria goalkeeper Maduka Okoye is set to miss the Super Eagles’ friendly against Jordan on Tuesday in Antalya, Türkiye due to injury.
Okoye has been ruled out of the clash after sustaining a thigh injury in training, the team’s media officer, Promise Efoghe, confirmed.
The 26-year-old will now return to Italy to undergo treatment with club side Udinese.
Head coach Éric Chelle must now choose between Francis Uzoho and Adebayo Adeleye to start in goal against Jordan. Uzoho notably deputized for Stanley Nwabali during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Okoye joins two other players who have already departed the camp: Semi Ajayi and Bruno Onyemaechi. While Ajayi was sidelined by injury, Onyemaechi was granted leave following the birth of his daughter.

The three-time African champions head into Tuesday’s game with momentum, having defeated Iran 2-1 in their opening friendly at the same venue last Friday.
