Nigeria defender Bright Osayi-Samuel has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Turkish Süper Lig giants Galatasaray.
According to the Turkish sports daily Fanatik, Galatasaray is strategizing for the upcoming season, with Osayi-Samuel emerging as a top option for the right-back position.
Currently, Roland Sallai is the preferred right-back at Galatasaray, with Wilfried Singo serving as his backup. However, with Singo drawing interest from other European clubs, Galatasaray is exploring alternatives, including Osayi-Samuel.
The Nigerian international was close to signing with Galatasaray’s Istanbul rivals, Beşiktaş, in the summer of 2025, but the agreement fell through at the last moment.
If the move to Galatasaray materializes, he would join fellow Nigerian international Victor Osimhen, who remains a key figure for the club.
Osayi-Samuel spent four and a half successful seasons with Fenerbahçe, recording seven goals and 15 assists in 178 appearances. He played a significant role in their 2022–2023 Turkish Cup victory before moving to Birmingham City in July 2025.
Under contract with Birmingham City until June 2028, the defender has participated in 22 matches this season, contributing one assist across 1,242 minutes of play.
The 28-year-old is currently on international duty with the Super Eagles in Antalya and played the full 90 minutes in Nigeria’s 2-1 friendly victory against Iran on March 27.
