It was a dream start for the visitors as they went 2–0 up inside the first 12 minutes. Artem Stepanov scored from close range three minutes into the game before Gjivai Zechiel doubled the lead for Utrecht following a great counterattack. Saibari halved the deficit with a brilliant solo run from the left. He took on two of his markers to pull one back before half-time.

The second half saw the hosts turn the score around inside four minutes. Saibari netted with a brilliant strike in the 48th minute and set up Guus Til to score the third from close range in the 52nd minute.

Ivorian striker Sébastien Haller managed to assist Jesper Karlsson to level matters eight minutes before time but Moroccan import Couhaib Driouech had the final say in the encounter as he gave the league leaders victory with a last gasp goal.

Saibari is having a tremendous season, having reached 14 goals and 8 assists in the Eredivisie. PSV are now in very good shape to retain their league title after collecting 71 points, 18 points clear of second-placed Feyenoord Rotterdam.

With five games left to play, De Rood-Witten will surely clinch their title if Feyenoord fail to beat FC Volendam on April 5. Saibari has previously won the league title twice in a row.
