Al Shamal SC secured a valuable 3-2 victory over Umm Salal SC in an exciting encounter at Al Bayt Stadium, as part of Qatar League (QSL) round 20.
Al Shamal made a strong start, taking the lead early through Omid Ebrahimi, who converted a penalty in the 6th minute.
The advantage was doubled just before halftime, when Algerian forward Baghdad Bounedjah found the net in stoppage time (45+7) after an assist from Tunisian midfielder Naïm Sliti, giving Al Shamal a 2-0 lead at the break.

In the second half, Álex Collado extended the lead in the 59th minute, making it 3-0 and putting Al Shamal in clear advantage.
However, Umm Salal mounted a late comeback attempt. Antonio Mance reduced the deficit in the 75th minute, before Yamaan Jarrar added a second goal in the 83rd minute.
Despite the late two goals, Al Shamal secured all three points from the game. Baghdad Bounedjah was named Player of The Match.
With this result, Al Shamal move to 37 points, sitting second in the Qatar League standings. Meanwhile Umm Salal sit 10th with 20 points.
