Onuachu, Nwaiwu goals secure all important Trabzonspor victory over Galatasaray

Goals from the Nigerian duo of Paul Onuachu and Chibuike Nwaiwu saw Trabzonspor secure a 2-1 victory over Galatasaray in the Turkish Süper Lig on Saturday.

​The match, played at Papara Park, saw the hosts take the lead in the 4th minute through an Onuachu header, which kept Trabzonspor ahead going into the halftime break.

​However, just four minutes into the second half, Ivorian defender Wilfried Singo put Galatasaray back on level terms. Trabzonspor responded in the 62nd minute, as Chibuike Nwaiwu’s header proved to be the decisive goal of the night.

​The victory lifts Trabzonspor to second place with 63 points, while Galatasaray—who were without their star striker Victor Osimhen—remain top of the table with 64 points.

​With his opening header today, Paul Onuachu has now increased his Turkish Süper Lig goal tally to 19 for the season.
