Polokwane City FC coach Phuti Mohafe has punched holes in his team’s away 2-1 victory over TS Galaxy FC in the Betway Premiership of South Africa on Wednesday.
In a pitch-side post-match interview with SuperSport Television, the highly rated South African coach highlighted what worked and what did not for his Rise and Shine against the limping Rockets at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium in KwaMhlanga.

Mohafe said he was happy that his team scored in either half at crucial moments on the Betway Premier game, but was also concerned with sloppy finishing.
“I will never be satisfied, but I am happy that in the first half, we showed good football and speed in attack,” the coach said. “The only thing I am a little bit worried with, is finishing. In the first half, we should have scored four to five goals.
“It is unfortunate that we missed those chances. Some of them were just next to the post. They just passed the balls, but what is good about that is that we are creating goal scoring opportunities. I hope that next time, we will convert those opportunities we create.”
Mohafe admitted that he was nervous towards the end of the game after Galaxy pulled one back and threatened to erase the visitors’ lead.
“In that moment, we just wanted to kill off the game. We were leading comfortably but we nearly shot ourselves on the foot as that is when we invited a lot of pressure. We just wanted to deal with the aerial balls that they were bombarding,” he added.
Juan Mutudza scored the first goal for Polokwane City with a fine finish beyond the reach of the Rockets goalkeeper Ira Tapé in the 17th minute. The visitors added the second goal barely three minutes into the second half through Mokibelo Ramabu’s strike.
Igor Salatiel replied with the consolation goal for the hosts from a rebound after Polokwane City goalkeeper Lindokuhle Mathebula had spilled a shot from Victor Letsoalo in the second half.
The Rise and Shire are in position seven in the log table with 29 points from 21 matches, four points ahead of the 12th positioned Rockets.
