The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has officially announced the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane as the host venue for the 2025/26 Nedbank Cup final.
The announcement of the Nedbank Cup was made live on SuperSport on Thursday evening, following a high-stakes semi-final weekend that set the stage for a new champion to be crowned.
In addition to the venue reveal, the PSL conducted the formal home-and-away draw for administrative logistics. Durban City FC will head into the showpiece as the designated home side, while TS Galaxy will be the away team.
In a significant shift for South African football, this year’s final marks a rare occasion where none of the ‘Big Three’—Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, or Mamelodi Sundowns—will be present.

The final will see Betway Premiership rivals Durban City FC and TS Galaxy collide in what promises to be a tactical battle between two of the league’s most improved outfits. Both sides secured their tickets to Limpopo by ending the fairytale runs of Motsepe Foundation Championship opponents.
Durban City booked their spot on Saturday, 4 April, with a gritty 1-0 victory over Casric Stars at Chatsworth Stadium. Not to be outdone, The Rockets followed suit on Sunday, 5 April, surviving a dramatic penalty shootout at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium. After a 1-1 stalemate against a resilient Milford FC, the Mpumalanga-based side eventually triumphed 4-3 on penalties.
The final of the Nedbank Cup is scheduled for Saturday, 2 May 2026, at the 45,000-seater New Peter Mokaba Stadium, with the kick-off time to be confirmed by the league in due course.
This year’s Nedbak Cup edition ensures a new name on the trophy, following Kaizer Chiefs’ shock Round of 32 exit at the hands of Stellenbosch FC. Amakhosi had entered the tournament as defending champions after their emotional victory over Orlando Pirates at Moses Mabhida Stadium last May.
For Durban City, the match represents a golden opportunity to secure their first major piece of silverware since their high-profile rebranding. Conversely, TS Galaxy will look to evoke the spirit of 2019, when they famously stunned the football world by defeating Chiefs to lift the ‘Ke Yona’ title as a second-tier side.
