Sihlangu SeMnikati: Eswatini Football Association media
You think you have what it takes to turnaround Eswatini senior national team’s fortunes?
Then this might be your opportunity to try your luck. The Eswatini Football Association (EFA) announced a vacancy for the job on Thursday.
In the job vacancy advert published on its website, www.nfas.org.sz/vacancies/, the association says a coach capable of leading Sihlangu to the AFCON finals would have an added advantage.
The suitable candidate will be expected to steer Eswatini’s Sihlangu SeMnikati to within the top-100 band on the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Rankings.

EFA also wants a mentor capable of equipping the team with technical, tactical and strategical expertise to enable them to triumph in matches and competitions in which they will participate in.
The coach should have a “tertially qualification, a minimum of a CAF A-Coaching License or a Pro-Coaching License if trained outside the CAF territory, experience in club and national team football with at least 10 years’ experience in each of the two.”
Eswatini shares a lot in common, including culture and language, with neighbours South Africa. Yet, for all the raw talent, the kingdom nation’s football has not grown at the desired pace. This has translated to the underperformance of the senior national team.
Sihlangu are among only 10 national teams that have never been to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals.
The post became vacant two weeks ago after caretaker Sifiso Ntibane announced the end of his tenure. He made the announcement in the aftermath of embarrassing back-to-back defeats to Eritrea.
Sihlangu SeMnikati lost 2-0 away and 2-1 at home to the Red Sea Camels to bow out of the AFCON preliminary rounds.
EFA named Ntibane as Sihlangu’s interim coach last September after parting ways with Zdravko Logarusic. The association sacked the Croatian-born coach with only two matches remaining in the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers.
Deadline for submitting applications is April 17 2026.
