Bundesliga: Diomande strikes late to extend RB Leipzig win streak

An 80th minute winner from Yan Diomande was the only goal of the match as RB Leipzig overcame a stubborn Borussia Mönchengladbach for a 1-0 Bundesliga victory at the Red Bull Arena.

The Ivorian continued his excellent 2025-26 campaign by netting his 11th league goal of the season in the 80th minute. A quick Leipzig attack provided plenty of space for the speedy forward to exploit before finishing low past Mönchengladbach Moritz Nicolas.

Nicolas did his part for the visitors with an outstanding performance in a match that featured plenty of opportunities for both teams. Despite low scoring, there was plenty of action in an even first half.

But the hosts asserted themselves more and more as the match wore on and it was a decisive late attack that allowed Diomande to score his 12th goal in all competitions this season. After receiving a pass in the middle of the park, Christoph Baumgartner got his head up and put Diomande into space on the left wing for the Ivory Coast national team star to do the rest.
