2024 CHAN: Venues for opening & closing ceremonies announced by CAF

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have announced the venues that will host the opening, third, fourth and final matches of the 2024 Africa Nations Championships (CHAN) in August.
The eighth edition of the CAF tournament will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Tanzania’s Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam will host the opening match, Mandela Stadium in Kampala, Uganda, has been designated to host the third and fourth matches of the tournament, while Kenya’s Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi will host the final on August 30.
Additionally, Zanzibar have been designated as one of the host venues – a decision that underscored CAF’s commitment to expanding the reach and inclusivity of African football.
The Host Cities for the Group Stages of the tournament are as follows:
• Group A | Nairobi, Kenya: Kenya, Morocco, Angola, DR Congo, Zambia
• Group B | Dar es Salaam, Tanzania: Tanzania, Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic
• Group C | Kampala, Uganda: Uganda, Niger, Guinea, South Africa, Algeria
• Group D | Zanzibar: Senegal, *Congo, Sudan, Nigeria
