2025 AFCON: Zambia will treat Sierra Leone game with seriousness - Grant

Zambia head coach Avram Grant believes they must beat Sierra Leone in their final 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) so as to the their campaign on a high.


Having already booked their place in the 35th edition of the tournament to be held in Morocco, Chipolopolo will face the Leone Stars at at Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium in Monrovia.


“This game is a very important, nothing changes even if we have qualified already, we like winning and we want to achieve as many wins as possible and I have told my players about the importance of the game,” said Grant ahead of the game.


“I want all my players to give their best, it is one game left and I don’t want them to relax, we must be ready to win our matches, it is no secret that we want to end the campaign on a high so our focus is to win.”


Zambia tops Group G on 10 points, one better than Coted'Ivoire who have also already secured their qualification. Sierra Leone is third with five points while bottom placed Chad who are away to Coted'Ivoire have three points.


The Leone Stars play their home matches in Liberia as they do not have a CAF/FIFA certified stadium in their home country.
