2025 NWFL Super Six final matchday fixtures to kickoff simultaneously

All three decisive Matchday 5 fixtures of the 2025 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Super Six will kick off simultaneously at 3:00 pm on Saturday, May 17, at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne .

This year's title race is one for the history books, with an unprecedented four teams—Nasarawa Amazons, Edo Queens, Bayelsa Queens, and Remo Stars Ladies—all still in contention to lift the league trophy on the final day. It's set to be one of the closest finishes in NWFL history.

Explaining the decision to have all matches played simultaneously, NWFL Chief Operating Officer Modupe Shabi said the decision was made so the league's integrity will be upheld.

“It’s important to protect the integrity of the competition. With four teams still in contention, simultaneous kick-off ensures fairness and keeps the excitement alive.”

This is a historic moment for the league, and we want the best team to emerge champion under the most transparent conditions.”

Currently topping the table with eight points, are Nasarawa Amazons who face second place Edo Queens, that are just one point behind, in a high-stakes clash at the Main Bowl. A win for either side will seal the championship, while a draw could leave the door open for others, depending on goal difference and goals scored.

Meanwhile, on Pitch 4, Bayelsa Queens will look to capitalize on the situation when they take on Naija Ratels, who have yet to register a point. A convincing win could be enough for Bayelsa to claim the title if the leaders drop points.

Remo Stars Ladies, playing on Pitch 2 against Rivers Angels, also remain in the hunt. With a solid win and favorable results elsewhere, the hosts could pull off a stunning late surge to clinch the crown.

According to the competition rules, the final standings will be determined by goal difference, goals scored, goals conceded, and head-to-head, in that order, in the event of a tie on points.

With every match carrying title implications and every goal potentially decisive, Matchday 5 promises an unforgettable end to what has already been a fiercely contested and memorable NWFL Premiership Super Six.
