Ghana captain Jordan Ayew has promised an improved performance from the senior national men's team in the subsequent international assignments.

The Black Stars brought back smiles onto the faces of its teeming followers after recording two consecutive wins in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. The four time African champions made light work of Chad, posting a 5-0 win in Accra before clocking a 3-0 victory against Madagascar in Morocco to top Group I.

Notwithstanding the blistering performance, the Leicester City attacker believes there is more room to improve in the coming assignments. “We're working diligently to enhance our game, ensuring we secure the necessary results in the remaining matches to qualify for the World Cup,” Jordan Ayew said in a statement issued on behalf of the Black Stars.

“We appreciate your [the fans] patience, understanding, and encouragement during these critical times. Your voices, messages, and presence at our matches fuel our determination to succeed.

“We're not giving up! We're focused on the task ahead, and we're confident that together, we can achieve our goal. We'll do everything in our power to make Ghana proud and bring joy to your hearts,” Jordan Ayew said in the statement.

The Black Stars finished the March international break leading Group I with 15 points, two more than Comoros in second. The national team will resume the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup later this year in September.
