Mozambique’s senior football team coach Chiquinho Conde has named a preliminary 49-member squad for the forthcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Mambas squad comprises Atletico Madrid wingback Reinildo Mandava, his Kaizer Chiefs counterpart Edmilson Dove, and UD Songo ageless winger Elias Pelembe.
The Mambas, blending youth and experience, will begin preparations for the World Cup qualifiers against Uganda on March 20 and Algeria five days later.
Mozambique lead Group G by nine points at par with Algeria whereas Botswana, Guinea and Uganda are tied on six points with Somalia anchoring the table without a point.
