3SC goalkeeper Mustapha Lawal awarded 2024/25 NPFL golden gloves

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) goalkeeper Mustapha Lawal popularly known as "Black spider", has emerged the 2024/25 Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) golden gloves winner.

Lawal ended the NPFL 2024/25 season with an impressive 16 clean sheets from 29 appearances.

The 3SC goalkeeper’s 55.2% clean sheet percentage shows consistent performance between the sticks and underscores his dominance in the league, placing him ahead of his closest rivals.

Despite not starting the season as the first choice goalie for the Oluyole Warriors, the magnificent shot stopper has become a force to reckon with, with his crucial stops and saves, which have been very key for the Ibadan soccer Lords.

The race for the prestigious award was keenly contested throughout the season, with Enugu Rangers' Lucky Jimoh and Remo Stars' Serge Obassa also showcasing remarkable goalkeeping prowess, both securing 15 clean sheets.

However, Lawal's superior clean sheet tally in fewer games ultimately sealed his victory.

Mustapha will now look to build on this next season, as he continues to show his brilliance.
