Manchester City stormed to a dominant victory over Juventus at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup and it was new signing Rayan Aït-Nouri who contributed on only his second start since joining from Wolves. Aït-Nouri assisted the opening goal in a 5-2 thrashing as City confirmed their status as winners of Group G at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.

An exciting start to the match saw each team score inside the opening eleven minutes. In the 9th minute, a patient buildup from City resulted in the ball being swung to Aït-Nouri outside the penalty area, where the Algerian international played a defense-splitting pass for Jeremy Doku to cut inside from the left wing to fire past Juve goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio.
The match appeared set to be a real battle between two of Europe’s elite clubs when Teun Koopmeiners leveled two minutes later for Juventus.

But that was as good as it got for Juve. Pierre Kalulu’s own goal put City back ahead before the half hour mark and they seized full control of the match in the second half.
Halftime substitute Erling Haaland, who came on for Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush, scored to put City up in the 52nd minute before the last half hour featured an onslaught of goals from the English Premier League side. Phil Foden and Savinho added goals in the final third of the match before a late consolation for Juve, leaving City with a perfect record in Group G.

Aït-Nouri appears to be making a strong early impression and now he will face strong tests in the knockout stages of the competition. City are set to face the runners-up from Group H in the Round of 16, likely to be Red Bull Salzburg of Austria or Saudi Arabian big spenders Al Hilal after the group is settled later on Thursday evening in the USA.
Manchester City and Juventus qualify for the Round of 16. Al Ain and Wydad AC are eliminated from the competition.
