Gaddafi FC officially confirmed Mubiru’s appointment on Tuesday, handing him a two-year employment contract as the club gears up for their latest Premier League campaign.
“We are honored to resume our UPL chapter under the guidance of Abdallah Mubiru—an accomplished and visionary football mind,” the club stated on their official website.
Earlier this month, Gaddafi FC publicly advertised the vacant coaching role, listing CAF A License as the minimum requirement. Mubiru, widely regarded as the front-runner, has now secured the job.
The former KCCA FC boss has been out of work since parting ways with the Lugogo-based giants in April. His appointment now places him at the helm of a Gaddafi side aiming to make a strong impression in the topflight.
Last season, the Soldier Boys earned promotion from the FUFA Big League, finishing second with 50 points—two behind champions Calvary FC. Buhimba United Saints also tallied 50 points but settled for third due to goal difference.
Robert Mukasa, also known as Kiyenje, guided Gaddafi FC through the final stretch of the campaign after replacing Allan Kabonge, who was dismissed during the second round of the season.
Mubiru brings a wealth of experience, having previously managed clubs such as Police FC, Proline FC, Vipers SC, and Mbeya City FC in Tanzania. He also served as assistant coach to Jonathan McKinstry with the Uganda Cranes.
